£ dilemma

every early semester comes the time where i have to send in an excel file which contains the financial details for the coming intuition year.

as i reluctantly pressed down on the keyboard, i know as much as i try to minimize on my expenditure, it'll still be multiplied by 7 in malaysian ringgit.

finally getting the total sum in pounds, i surfed the web to get the most current currency rates. almost evertime i skip a breath as i clicked the convert button, as it slowly loads the new page with the total sum in MYR.

*gasp*

saving the file, i ask myself if im doing the right thing here. to ask for so much money, yet it was a necessity. half of me says, 'dont send it, you know the amount. even if you worked for 2 years, you'd still wont have enough to get that much' ..

then the rational part of the brain kicks in, 'you dimwit, you're already in 3rd year. just make sure you get yourself a good job and pay it back..'

get it back i will. for sure.

you'd often see on the tele about how much blood was spilled to get money.. well in this actual world where money is power. its pretty much true.

i've had my fair share of being a brute feeling hostile against those with more financial power.

but i guess, its normal to feel that way.

since money circulates so often. karma does as well.

an old hardship

whilst waiting for the time to pass during work, i was talking to a fellow malaysian and we started to dwell on old memories of college.

back then, it was so different. the daily rituals and habits.. waking up at 7am and rushing off to that hard cold shower. frantically getting ready for class. the fact that we had to wear formal clothes to class made it even worst. cus honestly, in malaysian's humid weather, who can be arsed to wear formal just to go to class.

so we'd normally rotate our shirts, monday blue, tuesday red, wednesday blue again.

class would normally end early and we'd scoot off to the cafeteria for our breakfast. i was under strict budget then, saving up for my trip to UK in 2005.. i'd stuff myself during breakfast and skip lunch and sometimes dinner. cus during breakfast, we had the option of taking up as much fried rice or noodles and pay only RM1. which was such a steal in this day and age.

afternoon's were spent lazing about in our rooms, some would be playing computer games whilst others took the sloth way around it by taking an afternoon nap. the weather was normally too hot to do anything, waking up from the afternoon nap sweating, a cold shower cured everything.

the active one's would do sports like football, futsal or volleyball.. whilst the rest would just linger and meet up with other friends and just hang out.

with couple's filling up most of the seats at the students cafe, you'd quickly notice them parting ways as the religious fellow approaches. that had always tickled me. to me, it was more of an annoyance the religious fellow's antics.

on wednesdays, the streets would be filled with stalls selling all kinds of stuff as it was Pasar Malam(Night Market) night. a full 200 meter stretch filled with stalls, yet basically their selling the same type of food. i'd go for my RM1.30 fried rice and top it off with a RM1.20 fried chicken. the portion of the rice was always alot, leaving me almost unable to do anything after dinner.

nights in dorms is normally just hanging out, even with assignments piling up. we were all malaysians by nature, thus procrastination was in our blood(bad habit!). a week or normally a few days before the dateline, we'd meet in groups and discuss the assignment. though it was an individual assignment, the bloke with the right answer would distribute his work to others.

that was a bad habit as well.

but it was considered sellfish for you not to help out. but we all did our part, each with different talents.

it was a sad week when college was about to end. some left without saying any goodbyes, unsure of it was the better move.

2 years down the line.

the hardest thing now is to keep in touch with them old friends.

each already paved their own paths. some have gone international, some sticking to old habits. who would've known what was instored for us then..

lomography

when i went back to malaysia, a friend from sydney gave me a lomo camera as a gift..

after a while, i asked her whats the difference between a normal cam and a lomocam. she couldnt give me an answer.. so i snapped away and it turned out pretty kewl. though im abit saddened by the fact that i digital printed the film, so the bloke down at the photography shop must of edited the picture..

making it less lomo!!!!!

anyways, i found this on youtube, i think it gave a clear cut idea of what lomo is..

theres 7 parts though, and it totals to almost an hour .. nyhahaha die bandwidth die ! :P

my £5.50 pair o socks

a lil late, but who cares innit..

went down to pompey last weekend.. it was another spur of the moment trip.. same like the reading trip.. its fun though, travelling by train to places. its less hassle compared to renting a car and what not. plus you can do it right then and there without much planning. heehee !

basically spent nearing 10 quid on the ticket.. extra's is up to you..

so whats nice in pompey you might ask?

well, theres the quays (im bad with remembering names of places) where its supposed-of-ly sells factory outlet items from designer goods. shops like; guess, levi's, nike, timberland, fcuk, clarks, polo, oakley, puma and a few others..

so far the items are okay, but to get really good deals you still have to get down to the nitty-gritty and look real hard for em.

went into nike, looked at the items and the prices.. man what a ripp. i only bought socks for £5.50.. where local stores you get em for £7 at the cheapest. so you aint exactly saving alot.

so yea, lotsa walking around and 'freshin up' our eyes. :)

then we stopped at azzuro's for coffee while the others were in the mood for seafood buffet.

bye !

is it wrong?

'youve gone completely mental. what the hell are they feeding you?'

they questioned me. unconciously i went defensive and said,

'why? is it wrong for me to dream such things? i was not talking about now, at this very moment. but with time, in a year or two..'

they continued to tease me, saying i was on crack. yet i kept quiet..

so what was wrong with what i said?

is it not common for people to make plans which seem so surreal, that at times it is unthinkable if not unreachable?

i may lack the common rationality of people, but dont all great people sometimes look beyond rationality..

have i not already proven myself going beyond the mediocre in the past 5 years?

though i hate to remind myself of the past as though its something to flaunt about, but change has been apart of me since then..

forever a new leaf each year, progressing, molding, changing into something different.

finding the perfect form.. with it the triumphant look of satisfaction.

overcoming all obstacles and critiques.

then again, this might all just be a pep-talk..

oh well..

reading. emirates cup!

after much procrastinating !

i've finally updated. hahaha.

so yea, last saturday my mate called me up and asked me if i wanted to go down to reading..

'dude u wanna go to reading?'
'er.. whats there in reading?'
'i dunno, me and F are just gonna go there and look around. no reason.. u wanna come?'
'er.. wokay ! gimme 30 mins'

so we went to reading, i've heard other people mentioning about reading is another shopping area.. well sort off, cus it has most of the stores in london without the crowd.

i didnt take much pictures cus, after staying here for 1 year.. pretty much all the english towns look the bloody same innit?

but one thing was interesting, they had the river thames !

that is actually the main crowd area.. not sure if its the thames though. haha. nice place to chill and shop if your too lazy to go through london's hassle.

-

sunday i went to london to watch the emirates cup !

match was Paris St German vs. Valencia at 2pm then later 4pm, Arsenal vs. Inter Milan!

HOORAAAAHHH!! I GOT TO SEE THE ARSENAL PLAY ! NYAHAHHAHAHA!

crowd was overwhelming as usual.. i would post more pictures if i had more..

cus my camera battery died on me. :(

i know. how shitty is that.

but it was all good, cus i've been to emirates before.. :P

taken before my camera died.

boohooo !

anyways, it was just wicked !

whilst the game between PSG and Valencia was abit of a let down, since PSG won 3-0 .. Valencia was so crap, i honestly dont know how the hell did they get 4th(?) last season..

even with players like david villa, albelda, joaquin, morientes.. they were defending half the time... such a let down..

but from that game you can see how strong french defenders are.. whilst half of em are black(doubt they actual french :P), man their massive and solid at the back.

finally..

arsenal took the pitch at 4pm.. for warmups.. whilst the likes of rosicky, eduardo and theo walcott wasnt present.. it was all good.

inter looked to have only brought half? maybe even a third of their actual first 11.. which was dissapointing, cus i was so hoping to see zlatan ibrahimovic in action..

when the game kicked off, arsenal looked to be trying a new formation with only v.persie up front.. bacari sagna was at right back with eboue pushed to midfield with a flanking role.

which proved effective the first few tries.

inter milan fielded their new signings and reserves, with david suazo opening the scoring against arsenal (not suprising... -_- )

the crowd cheer arsenal on as the minutes went by.. finally hleb equalized !.. though it was a bit of a scramble to actually get the goal..

among the cheers were..

'if you hate tottenham, standup !'
'for the arsenal, stand up!'
'we love you arsenal, we do !'
'robin van persie!'

and when there was a dive..

'who are you!?'

which was absolutely brilliant !

oh and materazzi got boo'ed all the way till he was sub-ed.

NTYAHHAHA.

ayways. off to my friends room for a bit.. lates !
