Home never felt better.
I finally arrived home last sunday, after a week being abroad on a company visit. The feeling of being home was monumental. It wasn't the homesick, it was the thought of returning back to the routine life.
The 6am alarm.. The homecooked breakfast, the freedom to doze at the backseat while my dad tries to start a conversation..
It was pure bliss to have all this luxury back.
Abroad I was stuck on a schedule which included 3am wakeup calls and 2am bedtime. The reality is that the 5 star hotel room meant little when your hardly asleep.
But you might say it is an experience not many people get. I agree, its expensive and travelling last minute in business class defineatly isn't for the average joe. I'm still the same person except for my job duty privileges, so you might call me the slightly above average joe.
A lesson learnt is that you really do need to keep fit for trips like these. Long days with minimal sleep but maximum intake of food isn't exactly the best recipe for health. Since I got back, I have yet to step on the weighing scale and just pretend that I didn't gain that much.
Denial is weights best friend I say.
But reality checks on the belt/waistline and I could just feel my belt getting tighter and can't afford to change to yet another size in trousers.
Monday I had futsal and panted like my lungs had holes
Tuesday I went to gym for a quick session of 2km only but I doubt that 2km will cover for the farewell dinner korean bbq I went later on.
So today I forced myself to gym again knocking on 4kms and some weights and boy I could just feel them arms are like jello. Only a few reps is what I could manage, so different to last 2-3 months when I was a regular.
So in preparation for my duty of eating and not sleeping in june. I plan to hit the gym as much as I can for this 2 weeks and maintain this ritual.
If not my wifey can call me a liar and she has to marry a blob.
Haha.
