a warning

friends and family back in malaysia.. please.. spare a moment to read the next few lines ..

recently a friend of mine was robbed in plain daylight.. it was on the 30th of Jan at 9am in SS 7 Kelana Jaya. according to my friend the victim, she was outside her friends house about to enter the car when the both of them was jumped/ambushed by the robber. the robber/thief tried grab my friends bag. being the rebellious person she is, she resisted. thats when the robber took out a 'rambo looking knife' and held it against her friends neck. whilst she still resisted, the friend screamed for her to just let the robber have the bag. as she was half way letting go of her bag, her hand was slashed by the robber.

she hadnt notice the wound until later when the robber had fleed and she was bleeding profusely.

when she arrived at the hospital the doctor said that 3 of her tendons in her wrist was cut and she had to go for surgery.

so friends and family, please do takecare when your alone about to leave the house for work or anything.. especially if your a girl. guys u might think that its unlikely for guys to be robbed, think again cus shit might just happen to anyone these days.

my friend was traumatized but is now slowly getting better.

she also sent me a picture which i have linked below. mind you the picture is of grotesque in nature. so those of you who cannot stand blood or the likes of it.. please refrain from clicking.

ouchie.danger!danger!

the 2 years part 1

2 and a half years ago i left malaysia for the UK .. now as i near by 'planned' departure date. i guess its good to have a review of some of the memories here..

Photobucket

leaving home was never easy, preparing yourself, packing your things for what should be the future. saying goodbye would be the worst, to family .. and friends..

Photobucket

when i arrived, i still couldnt comprehend what had just happened. some people get teary during the last goodbye's. but i was excited and after 12 hours. here i am, putting my lil two feet on england soil. it did took some to adjust to seeing majority whites and not asians. the weather was dry and cold.

Photobucket

proud i am that i was malaysian, especially when there are games such as the Nottingham games. watching how the event was handled did bring some memories of work. it was here also that i slowly tracked back my long lost friends..

Photobucket

among em was this fella here with the fro. he's my highschool, primary school and agama school buddy. the irony that we'd find one another in another country.

Photobucket

the first raya abroad was different. at home it was just a matter of showing up and looking nice. here if you want it to be grand you have to organize it to be grand. everything is up to you. literally carving 'independance' as second nature.

Photobucket

watching the fireworks at waterloo during new years did bring memories of watching fireworks at KLCC.

Photobucket

watching the first snow flake drop and seeing everything outside turn white was exciting as hari raya. well for the first time anyways. today is the 5th day of the massive snow in UK and i'm complaining more then enjoying. why? cus the roads are slippery and im fed up with landing on my bum each time i go to uni.

Photobucket

february i had a chance to watch brazil play portugal at the emirates stadium. it was just brilliant. soo much different from watching footy from the tele and malaysian stadiums. football is something i will never get bored of. especially arsenal.

Photobucket

being abroad also encourages patriotism. it is here your able to compare the good and bad of your country. supporting your fellow countrymen and women. i absolutely enjoyed boo-ing the danes during the semifinal of the england open back in 2007.

Photobucket

experiencing spring in scotland is also one to remember. the castles, the fields, the air.. if anything, to me scotland has more interesting things to see compared to england.

Photobucket

when summer was near, it dawned on me how beautiful it is the weather in malaysia. the heat, the sun, the green grass.. having a bbq was never a problem in malaysia. try having a bbq during dec in UK. people will think your mad ! :P

Photobucket

going back home in the summer was just..bliss. seeing familiar faces.. watching footy with the lads and everything.. i would never swap that for anything. i'm sorry but no matter what happens i still feel that being in malaysia is where i belong. ;p

Photobucket

eventhough i was only back for a month and a half in malaysia, it was enough.. fulfilling in everyway. when i came back, i managed to get tickets to watch arsenal vs inter during the emirates cup.

Photobucket

pathetically i guess i could say the other thing i wished i had done more was travelling, since i didnt manage to fulfil my plan of least visiting lisbon and munich. but the trip to amsterdam was awesome non the less.

Photobucket

i guess what i can say to people what i've achieved most during my time in the UK would be keeping long hair. hahaha. this was the longest i've kept all my life. :)

stay tuned for part 2.

25. cus i dont know what else to write. :P

1. i'm on the verge of going back home but the question when is dependant on the administration of uni and my sponsor.
2. i have stayed in the UK for 2 and a half years and yet my whole perspective of this nation and life has changed from extremes.
3. to me, the more you experience life the more matured you become. not someone who lives under his/her happy bubble and judges others from what they read or perceive.
4. i believe hardwork and determination is the root to all success.
5. but there is also a certain limit where you must always have your foot on the ground and not take dreams too far.
6. i disliked highschool, where students are segregated into either science or arts streams. when the honest truth is, the science students will later do ACCA and finance and the arts student will do engineering or the likes of it.
7. to measure success is the measure how many people's life you've changed around you.
8. i think i should start reading more books then the internet.
9. most of my actions are dependant on my mood at the time. if i am in the mood to read, i can go through 3-4 novels in a week. if i'm not in the mood, i'd be happy if i finish 3-4 pages.
10. i would like to think that i am a neat person.
11. but i tend to just not care when i'm tired and just throw things around.
12. i dislike people moving my things without telling me. since i normally know where i put my things (in that small pile of things.. :P)
13. i dislike watching the tv series aired in malaysia where they perseive the characters mostly to be bimbo's and idiots. so farfetched from reality.
14. i like doing work on my laptop, be it programming or editing photos.
15. from my overuse of computer time, i am now suffering from sciatica. kudo's!
16. i learn best from examples, therefore apprenticeship is the best way for me to learn in a company.
17. i am 90% on time during meetings. the other 10% i blame on traffic :P
18. i will try and selflearn programming to please myself and prove to everyone that programming is not hard. its just annoying.
19. i know i rant too much.
20. i also know that this is my blog. so i can rant anything i want! muahhaha!
21. i am neither the mathematical genius nor artsy fartsy bunch. i am the middle line where i can do maths but also enjoy designs and art. does sound really snobbish doesnt it. ;p
22. i hate being taken for granted and believes that 'fuck off' is reserved for those who step on others to reap their own benefits. pardon my french.
23. i used to curse a lot during highschool.
24. i am the kid from highschool whom people normally dont recognize just because, get this, 'i change my hairstyle every 6 months' ;P oh and wear contacts.
25. i have successfully wasted 20 minutes of my life doing this. yayyy !
